5-Stand Shotgun shooting at Outpost Range is a true sportsman’s pastime. At many times being compared to golf with a shotgun, It is a blast for all skill levels from novice to expert.
You can get started in clay target shooting with a variety of shotguns including pump action, over under, semi auto, and calibers ranging from .410 to 12 gauge which is great from young to older shooters. 5-stand was created as a way for hunters to practice shooting that simulated bird hunting aspects and as a target sport to many people who previously could not afford expensive hunting weekend trips. Whether your interests in clay shooting is to tune up for an upcoming hunting trip or just for fun, clay shooting is a blast and can lead you into joining leagues or competing with friends. 5-stand is a cohesive mix of trap, skeet and sporting clays with clay targets being thrown from all different locations and directions.
Some of the common clays that will be thrown fly left to right, incoming and outgoing and high and low positions to create unique presentations that simulate everything from running rabbits to incoming fowl. Each of our five stand fields have six different throwing positions that are adjusted to keep the course fresh and new at all times.
During the game you will get the chance to shoot at a range of different size clays including midis that resemble dove or quail, rabbits that resemble a fast running varmint and standard clay targets that resemble a variety of hunting birds. While shooting, you will also be presented these different size clays with both single targets and double targets for an added challenge. Outpost Range offers two separate clay fields, with 12 games to shoot.
Each shooter will first be able to pick there difficulty level from beginner to advanced and then given a menu card telling the sequence of what targets they will be shooting. At each five stand field there is 5 shooting positions. Each shooter will shoot 5 clay birds at each station then rotate to the next bay 5 times totaling 25 total clays thrown and shot. Every time a shooter moves it gives a new vantage point to shoot from and a fun fresh look at where the clays are coming from. Each round of 25 clays takes roughly 20-30 minutes.
